Local Food Producers
Care about where your food comes from? So do we. Every year, in association with Tesco, Mullahead hosts a marquee dedicated to local food producers, allowing visitors to sample and buy their delicious produce. From mouth watering pork to freshly pressed apple juice, the so-called “Tesco Tent” at Mullahead is always a favourite, with visitors enjoying the sights and smells.
Although the majority of the ploughing competition focuses on vintage machinery, Mullahead annually hosts a large machinery exhibition. Local dealerships including, Alexander Mills, Burkes of Cornascriebe and Johnston Gilpin bring along the latest models and technology to showcase on match day.
For the those who like to shop, you won’t be disappointed at Mullahead. Dozens of exhibitors flock to Mullahead every year from all over the Province to display their varied wares. From cupcakes to books, from handbags to model tractors there is certainly something for potential customers of all ages!
The mini cafe, run by local youth organisation Bleary Young Farmers Club is definitely worth a visit. Take a moments rest to enjoy a cup of tea, a homemade tray bake or a bowl of hot soup and the friendly reception from the members of Bleary YFC. The members will be only too happy to talk to you about their organisation and the many opportunities it has for young people aged 12-25.

Mullahead also plays host to the “Forthill Farm Perpetual Cup” competition run by the NI Stick Carvers Club. Prepare to be amazed as these skilled men and women turn an ordinary piece of wood into a beautiful and functional walking stick.
